STATESBORO, Ga. – Jayson Foster ran for a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns and the Georgia Southern defense held The Citadel in check during the second half, rallying for a 21-17 Homecoming win at Paulson Stadium Saturday afternoon (Oct. 27). In a match-up of two of the nation’s top scoring offenses, it was the defense for both teams setting the tone. The Eagles were averaging 41 points per game (third nationally) while Citadel was close behind at 40.1 ppg. Georgia Southern held the Bulldogs to three points and 128 total yards in the second half.

BOONE, N.C. – Quentin Taylor stopped Appalachian State quarterback Armanti Edwards one yard shy of picking up a first down, securing Georgia Southern’s 38-35 win at Kidd Brewer Stadium Saturday afternoon (Oct. 20). The Eagles snapped App State’s 30-game home winning streak, which had stood as the longest among Division I teams in the country.

ELON, N.C. – Georgia Southern lost another overtime heartbreaker, dropping a 36-33 decision at Elon Saturday (Oct. 13). The Eagles fell to 4-2 overall and 1-2 in the Southern Conference. GS allowed the fewest rushing yards in program history (minus-19 by Elon) and the double-overtime matches the longest contest ever (2 OT last year against Appalachian State). It was the first-ever win by Elon in eight meetings with the Eagles.
